Today some of us headed out for a visit to one of Budapest’s almost 125 thermal springs. Gellert is one of the most famous thermal spa baths in Europe. Taking a dip in a thermal spa in Hungary is one of the items in the book “1000 Things to do Before you Die”. Paul, Charlie and Liam didn’t go but everyone else made it there. The kids were too young for massages and they weren’t interested in hanging around for a few hours in the pools.
The building is certainly epic and glamourous.
Water wasn’t very hot but the pools were beautifully situated.
There were people braving the outdoor pool.
After having our soaks and massages Mary went out with Will and Jessica for some lunch at a nearby café and then back to the hotel. The rest of the day was spent lounging around
the hotel.
We went out to dinner with Jessica, Marvin and Jim, our new friends from Houston. They are leaving very early tomorrow morning. It was a great evening.
